I Run 4 Cal is an all-skill-level charity race to encourage donations to campus departments, scholarships, programs, and student groups. Cal students, staff, and alumni will run (or walk) through Sather Gate and along a five-kilometer course on campus. The race is followed by a 5K Run/Walk Expo with food, booths, activities, and live entertainment for all runners and spectators. Runners/walkers are encouraged to seek sponsorships from friends and family in support of their run. Sponsorships will be donated to the UC Berkeley campus program (department, unit, scholarship, student group, program, etc.) of the runner’s choice. (Note: the Graduate Division encourages participants to select “Graduate Division Travel Grant” as their specified donation. The travel grant is a highly valued program that helps Ph.D. students attend professional conferences to present a paper or poster on their research and make contacts with prospective employers.) The run is on Sunday, April 15, opening at 8:30 a.m. in Upper Sproul Plaza, with the race/walk beginning at 10 a.m. Check out the race map, find out more about participating, and register online. Yes, there are prizes!
