Invest in the change you hope to see in the world.

Your philanthropic support of graduate education helps empower our next generation of thought-leaders and changemakers. Berkeley’s world-class graduate students play a pivotal role in fulfilling the university’s mission — working closely with faculty to advance research and generate new knowledge for the greater good and illuminating possibilities for our undergraduate students through teaching and mentoring.

Our diverse community of more than 13,000 graduate students seed the university with unique perspectives — pushing boundaries, bringing new insight into the human experience and creating the potential to improve quality of life on a global basis. For decades, Berkeley has produced the highest number of NSF Graduate Research Fellows and Ford Foundation Fellows.

How your gifts make a difference

Your gifts to the Graduate Division lifts Berkeley’s ability to recruit and support the best and brightest minds. Your support enables the Graduate Division to guide, mentor and assist these future pioneers and pathfinders from the moment of admission to the completion of their degree. Through your generosity, we are better able to deliver the academic, personal and professional support services that are vital to graduate students’ well-being and life-long success.

In addition to providing support services and funding student and academic programs, the Graduate Division also ensures the equity of policy administration and excellence of programs across the university. As the chief resource and advocate for graduate education, we partner with the faculty and staff of Berkeley’s more than 120 distinguished graduate programs and the deans of each of the university’s seventeen schools and colleges to preserve and further the world-renowned quality of graduate education.

With your support we can build the scaffolding to ensure that master’s, professional, and doctoral students reach their highest potential and thrive.
