This virtual meeting is open to UC Berkeley Postdocs, Visiting Scholars, and Visiting Student Researchers with approved appointments.
In this webinar, participants learn how to interview successfully for positions and roles at U.S. universities. Based on real-world examples, they learn actionable techniques to manage anxiety and stay confident, speak with greater persuasion, conciseness, and relevance, and elevate their answers with storytelling elements. They learn what hiring panels are looking for and what makes a response effective.
Finally, participants learn how to “focus on the fit” as they move from resumes and cover letters to the actual interview and the thank-you note.
Beyond interviews, the webinar shows ways for introverts to network and increase visibility in academia. Participants learn how to reach out effectively to faculty and mentors in the U.S., and how to develop an online presence that feels authentic to introverts.
