Advanced Oral History InstituteThe Oral History Center of The Bancroft Library is offering a one-week advanced summer institute on the methodology, theory, and practice of oral history, August 5-9, 2019.

The goal of the institute is to strengthen the ability of its participants to conduct research-focused interviews. The institute is designed for graduate students in any field, postdoctoral fellows, university faculty, independent scholars, and museum and community-based historians who are engaged in oral history work. Participants are expected to have a project of interest, which they will be able to workshop during the Institute.

Institute alumni go on to publish books, produce documentaries, and use oral history in museum settings based on work begun or skills built during the institute.

Space is limited. You can read more details about the institute and apply on the Oral History Center website. Please contact Shanna Farrell, Oral History Center historian and interviewer with any questions.
