Memorial Stadium, UC Berkeley campus In October the Department of Recreational Sports will open a new 5,000-square-foot fitness center at Memorial Stadium. Convenient to anyone located on the east side of campus, the center will be open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and members of the community with a valid Cal Rec Club membership. The new center will feature a selection of weights and cardio machines, including treadmills, elliptical trainers, recumbent bikes, upright bikes, and much more — including new equipment for people with disabilities and private/gender-neutral changing rooms and showers. A new feature not currently available at the RSF will be a small technogym kinesis station. As Rec Sports needed more workout space to serve its clients and Cal Athletics has been committed to extending the use of the newly renovated Memorial Stadium to more campus constituencies, the new facility represents a fruitful collaboration between the two units. Members of the Cal community are sure to enjoy working out in the beautifully renovated Memorial Stadium.
