The Institute for Critical Social Inquiry, which will be held at The New School on June 14-21, 2015, offers advanced doctoral students and junior faculty from around the world the opportunity to take part in a series of intensive seminars with eminent scholars on topics ranging from Heidegger to secularism to critical race theory. The ICSI’s dream team of intellects includes Simon Critchley, Hans Jonas Professor of Philosophy at NSSR; Talal Asad, Distinguished Professor of Anthropology at the CUNY Graduate Center; and Patricia J. Williams, James L. Dohr Professor of Law at Columbia Law School. All participants will be housed in shared residencies in The New School’s University Center. PhD students in anthropology, sociology, philosophy, political science, history, English, comparative literature, area studies, race and ethnic studies and gender studies are encouraged to apply.
