The UC Graduate Student Experience Survey is open!

We want to hear your thoughts on your overall experience at Berkeley in order to better serve our graduate and professional student community. Your feedback is critical to improving graduate life at Berkeley, and will be used for many purposes, including identifying factors that support and limit student success, gathering student input about the quality of academic programs, and planning professional development and career resources.

Please help us by completing this University of California Graduate Student Experience Survey, which typically takes about 15 minutes to complete.

By completing this survey, you will be entered into several prize drawings for $25 and $50 e-gift cards. The sooner you complete the survey, the more chances you’ll have to win! Thirty winners will be selected and notified at their UC Berkeley email address.

The University of California Graduate Student Experience Survey (UCGSES) is an online survey, sent every other year to all UC graduate students. 

This survey is an important tool for understanding graduate students’ academic and co-curricular experience at Berkeley. UCGSES data is used for many institutional purposes, including providing graduate student input into academic program reviews and learning more about students’ financial concerns. All UC Berkeley graduate students who are 18 years old or older, as of April 10, 2023 are invited to participate in the survey.

Your responses to this survey are private, and the results of the study will be reported only as aggregate data. Any quotations from responses to open ended questions used in reporting will be reviewed to ensure that your identity cannot be ascertained. 

By completing this survey, you will be entered into several prize drawings for e-gift cards of $25 or $50. Thirty winners will be selected and notified between now and Friday May 30, 2025. Once you complete the survey, you will automatically be entered into all subsequent prize drawings, happening every few weeks from May through March. Thus, the earlier you respond, the more chances you have to win a prize.
