This workshop will feature in-depth training on the BioCyc pathway/genome databases and software tools given by BioCyc staff, with a focus on recently added features and functions. An opportunity to provide feedback on future BioCyc development plans will follow the training. Topics covered will include:
Introduction to BioCyc * Database selection * Search operations * Principal information pages: Gene, operon, metabolite, reaction, and pathway pages * BLAST search, sequence pattern search, extracting sequences
Transcriptomics and Metabolomics data analysis * Metabolic network browser * Displaying high-throughput data on individual pathways and metabolic network diagrams * Omics Dashboard
SmartTables and comparative analysis * Using SmartTables to store, share, and analyze lists of genes and metabolites * Genome browser and comparative genome browser * Comparative analysis tables
