GiGIGS logoGS (Getting into Graduate School) is a free mentoring program sponsored by the Office for Graduate Diversity (OGD) and the Graduate Minority Outreach Recruitment & Retention Project (GMORR) of the Graduate Assembly. GiGS is designed to encourage UC Berkeley diversity students to prepare for, apply to, and enroll in graduate study.

Graduate student mentors will:

  • Mentor two to three UC Berkeley undergraduates with applications to graduate school.
  • Support first-generation and other historically underrepresented students concerning the unique personal and academic challenges in preparing, applying, and attending graduate school.
  • Receive professional development training on topics related to graduate diversity, mentoring, academic entitlement, and more.
  • Receive a stipend of $500/semester.
