Three Berkeley graduate students collaborated to win the Tech-to-Market Innovation Challenge on May 8, 2014.

Kiki Lui and Dirk de Wit, both School of Information students, teamed with Charles Guo, an MBA student at the Haas School of Business to develop the award-winning system called “Connect Better.”

The concept seeks to help retailers attract new customers, while providing valuable customer data to mobile operators by using the LTE Direct standard to attract mobile users in the vicinity to nearby stores.

A $4,000 prize accompanies the Tech-to-Market Innovation Challenge, which is organized by the Berkeley-Haas European Business Club..
