The Tang Center is piloting a new option for care: short telephone appointments with a clinician. Some non-critical concerns can now be handled over the phone, without an exam. This includes medication questions and adjustments, discussion of results, self-care advice for colds and flu, referral requests for conditions previously evaluated at Tang, and more. The appointment office or Advice RN may recommend a phone appointment when appropriate and available, or you may ask if it’s a good option given your needs (these appointments are not made online). How does it work? The appointment office staff will ask you some questions to clarify your needs and advise if a phone appointment is appropriate. You will inform your phone number, and the Tang Center will provide a time frame (such as a one-hour block) when the provider will call you. Please make sure your phone is turned on, and keep in mind that the provider may still determine that an in-person visit is necessary, if more complex issues require more time or if a physical examination is needed. Learn more about short phone appointments. Spring break hours at Tang Center University Health Services will be closed Friday, March 28-Sunday, March 30 during Spring Break. See spring break hours.
