The Journalist as a Performative Persona
Steffen Moestrup’s research critically investigates what we might term persona-driven journalism. He analyzes how journalistic personas are created and used across different types of media and how the interaction between old media and new media plays into such processes. Considering persona-driven journalism as performances, he applies a trans-disciplinary approach drawing on methods and theories from journalism studies as well as performance studies. In this talk, Steffen outlines his research and discusses some of the flamboyant cases on which he works.
