UDL Strategies for Prolonged Student Engagement

What does it look like when students sustain effort in their learning? How can instructors cultivate learning activities that incorporate strategies to sustain effort and engagement? Through a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) lens, this 30 minute session will provide suggestions for strategies that encourage students to sustain effort over the course of complex learning or multi-step projects. In this workshop you will: Identify key strategies for sustaining effort when learning demands are complex Learn to apply  UDL principles to encourage students to sustain effort and persistence Explore options for sustaining effort and persistence in learning This session will run for 30 minutes, with an additional 15 minutes reserved for questions. This session will be held via Zoom. The UC Berkeley Photobears invite you to the Advanced Light Source (ALS) tour hosted by +Antoine Wojdyla (LBNL). The Advanced Light Source (ALS) is a science user facility, operated by the U.S. Department of Energy and hosted at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. It features about 40 beamlines operating in the soft X-ray regime (100 eV-2000 eV; corresponding to wavelength between 1 and 10 nanometers), serving over 2,000 users annually who seek to take advantage of the high resolution and elemental sensitivity of the X-ray beam.
