picture piggy bankThis April, Bears for Financial Success (BFFS) is hosting a series of Financial Wellness Workshops specifically for graduate students. BFFS is a peer-to-peer program that offers resources, workshops, and one-on-one appointments to students to help them manage their personal finances.

“So far our target population has been mostly undergraduate students, but we have been working to figure out how to best provide services to the graduate student population,” says Claudia Villicaña, Financial Wellness and Outreach Manager in the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office. “We consulted with multiple groups across campus to talk about graduate student needs and look at topics that are relevant for them.”

Workshops will be held 4:30–5:30 p.m. in 211 Sproul Hall on:

  • April 11: Student Loan Repayment, presented by Financial Aid and Scholarships
  • April 18: Salary and Benefits Negotiation, presented by the Career Center
  • April 25: Understanding Investments, presented by Bank of the West
  • April 27: Retirement Planning, presented by Bank of the West
