At UC Berkeley, the Office for Graduate Diversity plays a vital role in fostering this sense of connection by supporting inclusive community-building, offering resources, and creating spaces where students from all backgrounds can thrive. Here, you’ll find opportunities to build meaningful relationships and engage with others who share your values, aspirations, and commitment to making a difference.

An Inclusive Place for Excellence
The Hub offers a dynamic, relaxed atmosphere that supports unique learning communities, pilot programs for URM students, and a variety of workshops and events designed to help students develop new skills and explore exciting opportunities.
Meet with a Diversity and Community Fellows
Our Fellows are current graduate students whose unifying mission is to support the development of an inclusive graduate learning community by enhancing the cultural, academic, and professional experiences of historically underrepresented students.
American Indian Graduate Program
We ensure that graduate students are encouraged and supported in bringing Indigenous perspectives to their research, integrating diverse ways of knowing and inclusion of Indigenous methodologies and concepts of tribal stewardship, and enriching the diversity that defines the Berkeley graduate community.

Our commitments to sustaining a strong, diverse, supportive community — to providing a true sense of belonging to all; are essential, inseparable parts of who we are, what we stand for, and what we do on a daily basis.
Rich Lyons Chancellor, UC Berkeley

Supporting the Needs of Undocumented Students
The Office for Graduate Diversity is honored to serve the needs of current and formerly undocumented graduate students at UC Berkeley in partnership with the Undocumented Students Program.
STEM*FYI
There is an overwhelming need to support historically minoritized and marginalized groups in graduate STEM education. We believe that one of the best ways to do this is through a support system of near peers consisting of advanced graduate STEM students.
Over 300 graduate registered student organizations
There are over 300 graduate registered student organizations (GRSO) across 15 unique interest areas, including academics, cultural identity groups, professional organizations, and many more. The OASIS Center provides administrative and advising support to all GRSO’s.
