Overview

The Master of Molecular Science and Software Engineering (MSSE) is an online, professional degree that trains scientists and engineers to apply artificial intelligence, machine learning, and software engineering to real-world problems in drug discovery, biology, materials science, chemistry, and the physical sciences. Graduates gain the computational and programming skills needed to work at the intersection of AI and molecular science, from biotech and pharma to materials innovation.

MSSE is designed for students and working professionals with a background in the physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering who want to add software engineering, machine learning, and computational skills to their expertise, as well as for engineers who want to apply their skills to computational science and scientific research.

The program can be taken either full-time or part-time. Students attend weekly live (“synchronous”) discussions and labs, as well as engage with online (“asynchronous”) lectures and assignments on their own time.
