There’s nothing abstract about an abstract. Abstracts are everywhere in academic writing, from conference proposals to article submissions to grant applications. The goal of this hands-on workshop is to develop the skills of abstract writing for all of those purposes. First, you will first analyze the key components of an effective abstract. Then you will use those guidelines to outline and write an abstract of your own. Finally, you will complete a peer-review activity to get feedback on your newly written outline. Leave this workshop with a draft of an abstract and an understanding of how to write many more as you progress in your academic career. This event is open to all UCB graduate students in all disciplines!
