Event Information
Have you ever found yourself adjusting the way you talk or behave when transitioning from one environment to another? To align with the norms of different contexts, people may switch out of various identities, including race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, age, socioeconomic status, and disability status. Many refer to this chameleon effect as code-switching. In this workshop, you will learn more about how code-switching appears in academic and professional settings from a series of panelists. As attendees, you will also have the opportunity to reflect on your own experiences with code-switching, and how to stay true to your authentic self in your professional development. All UC Berkeley graduate students and postdoctoral fellows are welcome to attend.
The registration form will close at 11:59pm on Monday, March 11. The Zoom link for the event will be shared with registrants closer to the event date.
