Funding cycles include semesterly Fast Track opportunities for project funding of $5,000 or less and an annual Large Scale cycle for projects seeking over $5,000. All applicants must secure a fiscal sponsor to administer awarded funds, such as a registered student group, academic department, or another functional unit.

Any graduate or undergraduate student, faculty member, or staff member of the University of California, Berkeley, is eligible to submit a proposal for consideration. The STF Committee supports proposals for technology services and tools that improve student life. Grants cannot subsidize the University’s core technology infrastructure, and intellectual property developed as a result of STF support is owned by the University.
