Refining: Integrating Evidence

Every academic argument is in conversation with other people’s work. This interactive workshop focuses on how to clearly and convincingly integrate sources and evidence into your writing, using a flexible “evidence sandwich” method. We’ll apply this method to examples from different disciplines, from humanities quotation practices to STEM reports of data. Then you’ll use the method to write a paragraph of your own. Leave this workshop with a clearer sense of when to quote, when to paraphrase, and how to make evidence work for you.
