Insurance after Graduate Workshops, filing a SHIP waiver, and UHS Winter Break closures Published: December 15, 2010 By: Dick Cortén Insurance after Graduation Workshops If you are a SHIP member who will be graduating this semester, or if you are losing SHIP eligibility because you are no longer a registered student at UC Berkeley, it is important for you to plan ahead for continuing health coverage. A variety of plans are available to you once your SHIP coverage expires. Come to the workshop on Wednesday, January 12 (3 to 4:30 p.m.) to learn more. Please RSVP to email@example.com. Contact the Student Health Insurance Office at (510) 642-5742 for additional information or workshop questions. For more details, visit the UHS Insurance After Graduation webpage. Do you need to file a SHIP Waiver for Spring Semester? If you waived SHIP in Fall 2010, your waiver is effective for the entire 2010-11 academic year. January 11, 2011 is the deadline to waive SHIP enrollment for Spring/ Summer 2011. If you want SHIP coverage, no action is necessary. However, if you want to waive enrollment in SHIP, and did not waive for the Fall 2010 semester, please submit an online waiver application. Waiver applications must be submitted each year you are a student at Cal. Avoid confusion on your bill and problems with financial aid by submitting your waiver by the January 11, 2011 deadline. If you previously waived SHIP and wish to enroll for Spring/Summer 2011, please submit a completed waiver reversal form. Need more info? Visit UHS online or call (510) 642-5700.
