Fiona M. Doyle, Vice Provost for Graduate Studies and Dean of the Graduate Division

This can be a particularly stressful time of year — the end of the semester is looming, along with holidays that take us out of our usual routines, and can make significant demands on our limited time, regardless of how delightful it is to see friends and family.

But this year things are even more challenging. While we grapple with unhealthy air quality at Berkeley, my heart goes out to those who are dealing with much worse — devastating wildfires, shocking shootings, and other disasters.

The staff of the Graduate Division join all our campus partners in offering support as needed related to exceptions, deadline extensions, and resource referral, so please contact us if you have needs that are not met by other resources you’ve been offered.

Speaking of other resources that we hope you will use: this month we feature a new campus website, recalibrate, designed to provide wellness resources for the entire Berkeley community. See our story for more information, and take the time to click on the links, then bookmark the pages.

I hope that the resources are helpful and that all of you are able to take a relaxing break over Thanksgiving.

Best wishes,
