sustainabilty-pixThe Annual Sustainability Innovation Student Challenge Award (SISCA) was established to encourage and promote sustainable solutions to the world’s most pressing social, economic and environmental challenges. Submit your sustainability project or ongoing research for a chance to win the $10,000 Grand Prize.

Graduate student individuals and teams from all disciplines can submit projects that present innovative solutions to deliver breakthrough solutions for the following global challenges:

  • Energy
  • Climate Change
  • Water
  • Food
  • Housing
  • Human Health

Winners are selected based on criteria established by the UC Berkeley faculty judging panel and Dow including:

  • Potential for solving world challenges in alignment with the spirit of Dow’s 2015 Sustainability Goals
  • Interdisciplinary nature of work, for example, applied sciences, engineering, economics, public policy, social studies, business etc.
  • Innovative thinking and excellence in research
