The Berkeley Innovative Solutions (BIS) Consulting program pairs interdisciplinary teams of graduate students with energy- and resource-focused companies in the Bay Area. Our teams work directly with the leading companies in the energy and technology spaces. Past companies include Tesla, Siemens, Sunpower, and PG&E.  Our clients also include larger start-ups, public companies, venture captialists, accelerators, strategy firms looking to understand how to integrate energy and sustainability strategy into their business models.

BIS is a joint program run by the Berkeley Energy Resources Collaborative and the Center for Responsible Business. A typical BIS Consulting project has 3-5 students (including a team lead) and runs for 4 months, with each student contributing 5-8 hours of work per week. BIS Consulting projects provide a great way for students to learn more about the business of energy and sustainability, allow students to grow their network in the energy industry, and develop tangible professional skills.

No prior consulting or energy experience is required and all disciplines are welcome. Spring 2020 companies and projects will be posted in January, and the BIS Projects will run February through May.
