The Library and the Vice Provost’s Office consider study space for finals to be a vitally important component of campus support for students. For students to succeed academically, it is important that they use the library to study and to focus. Responding to requests from students, Doe/Moffitt Director Elizabeth Dupuis and Vice Provost for Teaching, Learning, Academic Planning & Facilities Catherine Koshland have announced that Moffitt Library and Gardner (main) Stacks will be extending 24-Hour Study to include RRR Week and Finals Week this semester. For spring semester 2011, Moffitt Library and Gardner (main) Stacks will be open continuously from Sunday, May 1 at 1 p.m. through Friday, May 13 at 7 p.m. This period represents 82 additional hours during which students have continuous access to the collections in the main stacks; continuous access to computers, software, printers, and computer support help at the Moffitt Microcomputer Facility; extended hours for group study rooms; and convenient access to refreshment in the FSM Café.

On into the night, the Library will be open; the day, unfortunately, will still have only 24 hours. (The photo is by Peter Alfred Hess, a Cal senior in architecture who's also a photographer and filmmaker with samples and further info at http://www.peteralfredhess.com)
