Before you leave for break, please do your part to make sure all non-essential systems in your work area — lights, computers and monitors, printers and copiers, coffeepots and microwaves, power strips, etc. — are turned off. If you will be working over the break, check to be sure your building will have heat!  Tips and links are available at the Energy Curtailment website

Heating and ventilation will be curtailed on the Berkeley campus from the end of the business day Friday, December 23, 2016, through Monday, January 2, 2017. Only heat and ventilation will be curtailed; normal electrical service will be maintained at all times.

Heads of units with temperature-sensitive facilities, essential research, and public service operations currently scheduled for curtailment may request an exemption by completing the Request for Exemption form. The form must be submitted no later than Friday, December 2, 2016.

Labs and research buildings are encouraged to participate in energy curtailment — please contact Kevin Ng in the Energy Office to discuss options.
