Strategies for Assessing Student Learning in Remote Courses Workshop

Online via Zoom

Have you ever wondered if your students were really “getting it,” or been surprised with low student grades when you thought all was well? Research shows that frequent, low-stakes assessments (i.e., formative assessments), like quizzes, reflective activities, and live polling, help instructors to check in with students’ learning and enhance students’ success. Low-stakes assessments also help to decrease students’ anxiety and favor timely, formative feedback that supports students’ learning. In this interactive workshop, participants will engage with example strategies for implementing frequent, low-stakes assessments into their course designs and discuss how to effectively gauge student learning over time. Log in via CalNet to register for Strategies for Assessing Student Learning in Remote Courses (5/7). Registration closes on May 6, 2021 - 5:00pm.
