Creating a learning environment that includes and supports all students can be challenging. Although inclusion and diversity are important to all of us, professional development can provide lots of great ideas but not sure how to integrate them into your content and teaching.

In this session, we will consider a few principles of inclusive teaching related to Universal Design for Learning (UDL) that you can implement in your pedagogy. The goal of UDL is to develop “expert learners” and this session will provide an overview of this concept and opportunity for discussion related to how expert learning looks in your content area.

In this workshop you will learn how to:

  • What? Inclusive Teaching using Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
  • Why? The brain & UDL
  • Discussion Topics related to developing expert learners: Purposeful and motivated, Resourceful and knowledgeable, & Strategic and goal-directed

This session will run for 30 minutes, with an additional 15 minutes reserved for questions. This session will be held via Zoom. Please register to get the Zoom link.
