Event Information

You’ve read enough, you’ve thought enough, you have a well-formulated argument. But every time you sit down to write, nothing sounds right. You write a sentence, delete it, try again. It just doesn’t feel good enough. This feeling is perfectionism and it’s one of the biggest obstacles to getting academic writing done. In this interactive workshop, we’ll tackle perfectionism head-on. We’ll start by looking at a real rough draft alongside its polished final version. Then you’ll do some quick thinking about your own research before a timed drafting exercise. After that, you’ll swap drafts with a partner and engage in peer dialogue about your writing. Leave with practical strategies to keep writing clearly and effectively. No advance preparation needed, just bring whatever you’re currently working on. To take part in this interactive workshop, please complete this registration form by 5 p.m. (PT) on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
