Claiming Expertise: How to Explain your Research in Three Minutes (Humanities & Social Sciences Communication Series)

February 16, 2018 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

This workshop will offer tips and techniques for confidently explaining your academic research project in just a few minutes. Students will have time to practice and workshop their short research narrative in a supportive environment.

The workshop will be led by Andrew Green, Ph.D. Career Counselor and Associate Director of the Berkeley Career Center.

Open to UCB graduate students and postdocs in all disciplines.

(For disability-related accommodations, please contact gradpro@berkeley.edu prior to the event.)

This event is part of the Humanities and Social Sciences Communication Series, presented by Graduate Division’s Professional Development program, together with the Townsend Center.

This series will bring together panels of Berkeley faculty, graduate students, and staff who excel at engaging broad audiences on humanities and social sciences topics, across a variety of media. Each panel will be followed by a workshop highlighting a campus resource that students can use to hone their communication skills.

We hope that graduate students, faculty, and staff who work in the humanities and social sciences will join us for this exciting new series!
