Apply for the Future of Higher Education Postdoc Program

May 2, 2024

The UC Berkeley Future of Higher Education (FHE) Postdoctoral Fellowship Program seeks applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship program from scholars in any discipline with a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley who have interest in a career in higher education administration. This postdoctoral fellowship is reserved for scholars who earned or will earn their Ph.D. in recent years. To apply, a candidate must have completed all requirements for their doctoral degree by August 31, 2024. Fellows are expected to be in Berkeley for the duration of the postdoc. The program provides two tracks for applicants: the Leadership and Strategic Initiatives Track and the Student Experience Track. Graduate Diversity & Community Fellowship Diversity and Community Fellows advance and implement the diversity and inclusion goals of Office for Graduate Diversity and the Graduate Division. Critical components of this work include but are not limited to, supporting an inclusive graduate community and enhancing the cultural, academic, and professional experience of historically underrepresented students (e.g., students of color, low income and first generation college students, and LGBTQ+ students, undocumented students, etc.). Fellows will work across and within academic units to create healthy communities for graduate students. Fellows will report directly to Assistant Dean for Diversity, Martha Chavez, and will collaborate with other members of the Office for Graduate Diversity. Fellows will receive a $7,500 stipend per academic year. Program details, application and deadline.

Office for Graduate Diversity Hosts Annual Weekend Visit

April 2, 2024

On March 16 and 17, 136 admitted graduate students visited UC Berkeley’s campus as a part of the University’s Diversity Days. The Diversity Days experience is hosted by the Office for Graduate Diversity and reserved for first-generation and low-income admits as well as admits who’ve graduated from an HBCU, TCU, or HSI.
