A new gender-inclusive restroom featuring eight fully-enclosed stalls opened Fall 2016 in Evans Hall, one of more than 40 campus buildings to have a gender-inclusive restroom.

Thanks to a system-wide policy announcement from the UC Office of the President, all new campus buildings and significant renovation projects will include gender-inclusive facilities. Although those policy changes went into effect July 2015, Berkeley had already been engaged in an ongoing process to provide more inclusive facilities — an effort that dates back to 2006.
