Linda von Hoene, Assistant Dean of Graduate Professional Development

As the new academic year begins, we encourage all graduate students – from those in their first semester to those on the job market – to set goals for professional development and seek out resources and programs to help achieve them.

The Graduate Professional Development website serves as a central portal to assist you in this endeavor. In addition to our Graduate Student Professional Development Guide and individual development planning tools, the site functions as a gateway to resources and upcoming events offered by a wide variety of units across campus in support of graduate student professional development, including:

  • Graduate Writing Center
  • GSI Teaching and Resource Center
  • Career Center
  • Visiting Scholars and Postdoc Affairs Program
  • Office of Graduate Diversity
  • Beyond Academia
  • The Townsend Center
  • D-Lab, and many more.

Watch also for the bi-monthly Graduate Professional Development Digest for information about upcoming events that will be sent to you through your department.

If you have questions about professional development support for graduate students or need assistance in this area, we encourage you to contact Graduate Professional Development.
