About Beyond Academia Beyond Academia (BA) is an interdisciplinary group of UC Berkeley graduate and postdoctoral students whose goal is to educate graduate students in the humanities, social sciences, and STEM fields about non-academic career paths. BA organizes small professional development events, as well as an annual 2-day conference which welcomes more than 400 attendees and hundreds of PhDs who made the transition successfully.
