SpeciesismFrom November 2012 through May 2013, faculty at Berkeley and Stanford are organizing an academic seminar series (associated with public outreach events) to discuss “Speciesism and the Future of Humanity: Biology, Culture, and Sociopolitics.” Its aim is to inspire a global dialogue on the relationships of humans to the rest of the natural world, emphasizing the present and future states of biodiversity, conservation, and sustainability, including public policy measures.  The first session will be early evening Thursday, November 15th, on the Berkeley campus, and the subsequent six sessions will continue through Spring 2013. For extensive information, including how to participate, see the seminar website.
