The following is an important message from the Council of Deans Task Force on the Future of Public Universities.

Dear Campus Community,

On behalf of the Council of Deans, we urge you to attend the upcoming Forum #2 on the Future of Public Universities in Wheeler Auditorium on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, 12-2pm.

Henry E. Brady (Dean, Goldman School of Public Policy), Catherine M. Cole (Professor, Performance Studies), Alfredo Mireles, Jr. (Student Regent), and Jonathan Stein (Student Regent-Designate) will speak on the topic of Taxation, Citizenship, Protest, and our Current Crisis in Higher Education. Every day we encounter events related to these issues, and we are struggling to find our way as a community in the face of unprecedented challenges. Please join us for a set of brief presentations from our speakers, followed by group discussions and a sharing of ideas and concerns from participants.

Get your own questions answered – post questions or concerns you would like to hear the speakers address on the forum website.

Free tickets will be available at the Wheeler Auditorium Box Office beginning at 11am. Doors will open at 11:30.

Sincerely,

The Council of Deans Task Force on the Future of Public Universities

Carla Hesse, Dean of Social Sciences
Mark Richards, Executive Dean for the College of Letters and Sciences and Dean of
