Big IdeasBig Ideas Is Recruiting Innovation Ambassadors

Are you interested in social impact, entrepreneurship and innovation, or public service? Big Ideas is recruiting highly motivated UC students to serve as Innovation Ambassadors at each UC campus.

Innovation Ambassadors work with students, academic and industry leaders, and the Big Ideas team to foster and engage the social innovation network on their respective campuses. Each UC System campus will have one designated Ambassador responsible for partnership development, outreach, event organization, and advising startups.

The student will serve from September through early December 2018, with an expected 10 hours per week commitment. Ambassadors receive a competitive stipend, two-day all expenses paid training at UC Berkeley in September, and other career development opportunities. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning on June 1, 2018, so interested candidates are encouraged to apply as early as possible.

Benefits include stipends, training, and professional development. Apply today!

The 2018-2019 Contest Launches in September 2018

Are you seeking up to $10,000 in funding and support for your social impact startup? Big Ideas is an early-stage innovation contest that connects students with the mentorship, training, and resources needed to successfully conceptualize, deploy, and scale social innovations. Open to all UC undergraduate and graduate students with creative solutions that address social challenges, the contest awards up to $300,000 in prizes across 40-50 winning teams annually.

The Big Ideas team is holding remote office hours via Zoom or Skype this summer for all UC System students to see if their project is a good fit for next year’s contest! Get a head start on your application by making an appointment here, ask us a question, or speak with an alumnus from your school!
