The Global Urban Humanities Initiative is excited to invite investigative reporter and author Jason Berry to speak on “Jazz as Urban Memory” and moderate the Landscape panel of the symposium.

He recently published a book titled City of a Million Dreams: A History of New Orleans at Year 300 (2018) and is producing a companion film documentary by the same title, to be released in 2019.

Berry is known for reporting on the Catholic Church in Lead Us Not Into Temptation (1992) and has been interviewed nationally by many major news networks. He also writes on culture for The Daily Beast and other publications. See the full symposium schedule or register online.
