Students Completing Degrees in Summer If you are a student with plans to complete your degree in the summer, please be sure that you check in with BIO to strategize your degree timeline and post-completion visa options as soon as possible. Each case is unique, so it’s critical that you meet with a BIO advisor before finalizing your plans. Employment for Summer Graduates — If you are graduating in the summer, this may impact your ability to work on or off campus more than 20 hours per week. If Summer 2018 is your final term, you will be limited to part-time work, ( 50%) appointments during the final term, unless you will be using your post-completion employment authorization. Fall Filing Fee/In Absentia Students International students, talk with BIO to discuss your Filing Fee or In Absentia plans and visa options. These are both considered legitimate registration statuses for visa purposes, so there are logistical issues related to travel and employment that are critical for you to discuss with BIO as you make your plans for the FF/IA term and beyond.
