Start the year by working on your science writing skills – without making a big commitment!
Berkeley Science Review (BSR) is looking for a few writers for a toolbox and labscopes. Toolboxes are illustration-intensive articles that usually run on the last page of the magazine and are around 650 words. Labscopes are short (250-word) descriptions of a research finding or focus from UC Berkeley, accompanied by an engaging image.
If you’re looking for a way to get started with science writing, labscopes are a great opportunity to get involved without making a big commitment. Take a look at the most recent issue here for examples, under the Labscopes heading.
Writers should be UC Berkeley or LBNL affiliates. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org ASAP if you’re interested — BSR is happy to suggest ideas if you’re unsure what to write about.
