Learn about exciting opportunities to participate in the BERC Innovative Solutions (BIS) Program for Spring 2017.

BERC Innovative Solutions works to link company projects, with interdisciplinary teams of graduate students from the UC Berkeley campus. The program is dedicated to working with clients to address their strategic energy and resource opportunities and challenges. The program also provides talented students with experiential learning opportunities in the energy and resources consulting space and broadens their energy network.

Teams are designed to meet their clients’ needs with complementary areas of academic focus and past professional backgrounds. The opportunity for students to collaborate across academic disciplines provides both a unique experience for student participants and a rich perspective for BIS clients. Teams of 3-5 graduate students work 5-8 hours per week as pro-bono consultants for one semester, for 8-10 weeks. Project tasks and deliverables are decided on between the team and client. BERC provides a small amount of funding to support food/drinks at team meeting. The BIS Chairs also act as mentors to help the teams solve problems, find resources, manage clients, etc.

Applications for the Spring 2017 Program will be released after the info session and should be completed and submitted by applicants by January 22, 2017. It is mandatory that you attend the session if you would like to participate. If you are absolutely unable to attend, but would still like to participate, please email: bis@berc.berkeley.edu.
