Media-Rich Content: Towards a Purposeful Pedagogy

March 12 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Why do we use or create media-rich content in our classes? What are the pros and cons for student learning? How do we do this thoughtfully? How do we obtain or publish these materials ethically, legally, and in ways that protect our students?

In this dialogue, we’ll explore sources available to Berkeley instructors and talk about privacy, fair use, design considerations, and issues of access. Gisele Tanasse, director of the Library Media Resources Center, will give a brief presentation on strategies and tools for incorporating video. Cody Hennesy (Library) and Maggie Sokolik (director of the College Writing Progams) will facilitate.

Come join in the discussion and help us build a resource list that can be shared widely with other faculty.

Refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP so we know how many people to expect.
