Exploring Career Opportunities: Designing Your Life

November 12, 2015 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Are you curious about the alternative career paths for PhDs? This program is for graduate students and PhDs who are curious about career options in industry and sectors beyond academia. This panel program explores work and life beyond the academy. These professionals will discuss their career transitions, describe their current positions and discuss the broader concerns of work life balance and organizational cultures:

    • Claire Kinlaw, Director of Product Development TerViva, was a postdoc at UC Berkeley
    • Jessica Granderson, Research Scientist and the Deputy of Research Programs at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, PhD Engineering UC Berkeley
    • Russ Powell, Workforce Performance Improvement Consultant, Peregrine Performance Group

TerViva is a biotech startup in the global agriculture market. Agricultural innovation using new crops on underproductive land to produce biofuel, fertilizer, and animal feed.

Peregrine Performance Group provides consulting, e-learning, project management and Virtual ILT Training (vILT). The company has provided services for SAP, Genentech, Sungevity and Coca Cola, and more.

Change my title to Workforce Performance Improvement Consultant
Change our client list to include SAP, Genentech, Sungevity and Coca Cola. (Please lose Sun Microsystems as they’re kinda outdated these days. They’re part of Oracle now. =))
